Thomas — Feb 16, 2026 (President's Day)

Focus

FDE technical readiness, health plan pipeline research, business hardening.

Context

  • Premera proposal pending — expecting acceptance, ~$25k/mo
  • ViVE conference Saturday (Feb 21) — payers + investors
  • Between investor calls
  • Free day to do the hard, neglected work

Work Log

  • Updated ops/objectives.md — was a month stale, now reflects Feb reality
  • Drafted conversational pitches (30s/2min/5min) for ViVE — fundraising/materials/deliverables/pitches.md
  • Comprehensive US health plan landscape — 150+ plans across 4 tiers, market intel, regulatory drivers, UM vendor landscape. File: research/prospects/health-plan-landscape.md
  • FDE engagement playbook — 1400-line technical playbook: health plan IT architecture, Premera stack, UM data flows, engagement timeline, clinical criteria code models, NLP/AI pipeline with TypeScript, compliance, 30+ learning resources, build priorities. File: research/fde-manifesto/fde-engagement-playbook.md
  • Website review of daisyai.ai — detailed analysis: messaging too generic (missing UM/PA language), good CTA, needs team bios and social proof, consider lighter design for healthcare buyers
  • Premera Day 0-30 execution plan. File: clients/premera/day-0-30-execution-plan.md
  • Premera operating rhythm. File: clients/premera/operating-rhythm.md
  • FDE skill ramp list. File: clients/premera/fde-skill-ramp.md
  • Cross-referenced existing prospect pipeline (2 Google Sheets, 170+ accounts) against new health plan landscape. Identified 30+ right-sized plans missing from pipeline.
  • Researched CTO/CIO contacts at 10 new target health plans (LinkedIn, titles, AI/digital transformation intel)
  • Built prioritized outreach plan — 15 targets with personalized emails, contact intel, templates. PDF: research/prospects/outreach-plan-feb-16.pdf
  • FDE technical craft research — synthesized from Palantir, OpenAI, Ramp, Salesforce, Anterior. Real project examples (Morgan Stanley, Ferrari, NHS), 10 replicable patterns for health plan UM, toolkit comparison, Day 1 engagement kit, career progression map. File: research/fde-manifesto/fde-technical-craft.md
  • FDE learning path — books, certifications (FHIR Fundamentals, dbt, AWS SA), healthcare standards (FHIR, X12 EDI, OMOP), key repos (Medplum, medspaCy, HAPI FHIR), 5 build projects with full tech specs. Included in technical craft file.

Thinking / Decisions

  • Today is about depth, not breadth. Technical understanding of FDE work > conference logistics.
  • The real question: what does it actually mean to show up at a health plan and do FDE? What systems, what data, what workflows?
  • Should be building skills/automations and prototypes that demonstrate competence, not just pitch decks.
  • Health plan pipeline is the highest-leverage GTM activity — if we know who all the plans are, we can systematically reach them.
  • Sweet spot for outreach is 500K-2M member plans (not the giants like UPMC). Target CTO/Head of Data Analytics, not just UM directors.
  • Several target plans (BCBS SC, Medical Mutual of Ohio) already using Cohere Health — they understand AI value. FDE is complementary, not competitive.
  • Arkansas BCBS lost $226M in 2024, switching UM vendors — maximum pain = maximum receptivity.
  • Wellmark BCBS actively hiring VP of Analytics/Data/AI — budget and priority exist.

Blockers

  • Premera acceptance — out of our hands, just waiting
  • Don't know ViVE attendee list — conversations will be opportunistic

End of Day Assessment
